Origin and Involvement

This is What Jesus Will Do Ministries is a non-profit organization 501 (C) (3).

The ministry was started in 1999 as a Ministry to the Poor and the Homeless in a park in Tucson, Arizona. I was the interim director at the Tucson Prayer House, and I had allowed a pastor who was in transition to hold meetings there. An elderly couple excitedly brought bread to share with the congregation, and they “turned up their noses,” refusing to accept the act of love and kindness. As I retired that night, I was grieved in my spirit on witnessing the pride the affluent church members exhibited. God spoke to me, “Bread was brought to the church, and they spurned it, take it to the poor.” God’s instruction caused me to reminisce on Luke 14:23: “And the Lord said unto the servant, ‘Go out into the highways and hedges, and constrain them to come in, that my house may be filled.’”

I woke up excitedly the following morning to obey the Word of the Lord. He added, “Prepare the food for the Homeless just as you would do it for yourself.” I willingly prepared a crockpot of potato and chicken soup and made cheese sandwiches. When the Directors of the Tucson Prayer House left, they gave me a list of the names of the board members for support. I called the first name on the list, requesting help to distribute food to the homeless in a nearby park. That person was Ernest Baker, and he eventually became my husband.

God used a homeless man to introduce my husband and me to Access Tucson Television. In 2000, “This Is What Jesus Will Do Ministries,” in addition to being a ministry to the poor and the homeless, emerged as a bilingual Christian television program. The emphasis was on praise, worship, the preached word, and prayer. Pastors and other ministers of the Gospel were invited as guest speakers; there were interviews, panel discussions, and guest praise and worship groups. My husband and I ministered to the homeless in the parks every Sunday from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., then went to the television studio from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. My four children, who were born between the years 2002 and 2007, were on every television program with me and ministered in song, dance, and more.

In 2017, This Is What Jesus Will Do Ministries hosted a Prayer and Praise Vigil for pastors in Yuma, Arizona, on the last Friday of each month from 9:00 p.m. until midnight. This was an effort to unite pastors in prayer for the Body of Christ.

In 2022, This is What Jesus Will Do Ministries hosted a conference for pastors and youth in Sierra Leone, West Africa.

In the Fall of 2024, This Is What Jesus Will Do Ministries will hold a three-night mass evangelistic crusade in Sierra Leone, West Africa.
